Foster masterfully explores the complexities of relationships, delving into themes of forgiveness and the power of human connection.

As the characters navigate their intertwined paths, they learn to cherish the moments that define them and learn the importance of vulnerability. With heartfelt emotion and evocative prose, the story unfolds, revealing the beauty in the struggles of love. The journey is one of exploration, where the characters come to terms with their desires and dreams, reminding readers that sometimes the most profound revelations emerge when one dares to love fully.

Maybe We Won’t by Melissa Foster, the third book in the Silver Harbor series, gave me all the feels. The series follows three sisters, Abby, Cait and Deidre. Having read and enjoyed the books 1 and 2, I eagerly awaited the release of Deirdra’s story. I knew her story would be special, and Foster delivered as expected.SummaryAttorney at law and Deidra Messieres, after giving so much of herself to her job while woefully neglecting her family and missing out on a social life, was overlooked for a promotion. Silver Harbor is the last place she wants to be, as it holds many painful memories. Memories she wishes would stay buried. But she came anyway as she wanted to prove to her boss, he couldn’t function without her.She has no interest in getting involved in the family business. Neither is she interested in getting to know the drifter/ hippie who claimed to know her mother. After all, they have nothing in common. She’s a planner and workaholic, while he moves to the beat of his own drum. Fate, as always, had other plans, and soon Deirdra and Jagger would find themselves on a journey of friendship, romance, healing, forgiveness, and new beginnings.Deirdra may be a confident Attorney, but when it came her personal life, she was the Queen of insecurities. She grew with the progression of the story. I secretly cheered for her with each page turn. It warmed my heart when she loosened the chains of unforgiveness and embraced all life offered.Jagger piqued my interest after meeting him in the previous books. Well, Foster satisfied my curiosity in Maybe We Won’t. Learning about his past, his family and the events which shaped his personality and his life choices was intriguing and enlightening. One can see why Deirdra found it hard to resist his charms.I loved their romance, which was passionate, warm, sweet, authentic, and brimming with emotions. There was no faking the sizzling chemistry between them. I have to say they are my favourite couple from this series. The camaraderie between friends and family added depth to the story. I loved how the author emphasized autism and the challenges faced by parents and siblings of the child diagnosed as being on the spectrum.︎Maybe We Won’t delivered a romance to warm your heart, fill you with hope and leave you with a smile at the end. If you love the opposites attract trope, then ︎Maybe We Won’t  will feed your desires.I enjoyed listening to both narrators. Virgina Rose is new to me. I have listened to Aaron Shedlock before. Virginia did a wonderful job bringing Deirdra to life. Aaron was definitely the voice of Jagger. Their voices were distinct and done well.
