Besides all the slurs this was a good book. I liked how I got a glimpse of each generation as they were growing up. This is the story of three generations and a narrator named Callie Stephanides who is later known as Cal due to a late discovery of their biological make up, stated to be caused by incestual relation of the two previous generations.
