Thorbury Hall, once the centrepiece of the city’s new university, lies derelict. No longer home to the University Business School, the hall is fenced-off and out of bounds to the students and most of the university staff. When the overgrown grounds become the scene of a murder, the Thorbury City Police are presented with a puzzle. Is there a connection between the young victim and the Earl of Thorbury? Dr Paul Cahill, a former Detective Sergeant turned lecturer, is drawn into the mystery and as the body count increases, Paul and his partner Carol Jones develop a life threatening interest in Thorbury Hall and its history.
