It may be better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, but to have had fame, fortune and adulation and to have lost it all sucks big time. To have been the drummer in the largest rock band in the world and to be left with nothing hurts like hell. It can drag a man down. So far down that he can lose the only thing he has left - his sanity.

Only when a man faces his demons and accepts the person he has become will he realise that he has truly hit rock bottom.

There really is nowhere else to go.
