Phantom

Newcastle-based lawyer Eric Ward is surprised when an important local shipping firm, Goldsteins, pay him a large retainer to do some work for them despite having their own in-house legal team. One of the Goldsteins' ships, the Sierra Nova, is unable to leave the port because a crew member. Edwards, has been caught smuggling drugs - but he's been removed from the ship, and the voyage still can't go ahead. When Edwards is killed on his way into the courtroom, more complications unfold. Ward finally discovers that the Sierra Nova is under investigation by the International Maritime Bureau and the police want him to assist by betraying his client's confidence. He finds himself immersed in the dangerous world of international conspiracy and modern day piracy.
