I loved tandem-reading this with Powerless and I also loved this series so much. It's so heartbreaking at the end but I love to hate it. (I sobbed my heart out)

Nooooo this book utterly broke me. I knew, from reading Poweless, it wasn't going to have a happy ending. Poor Makoto, losed everybody he tried to save.

“See you in the sky"This novella was such a fun and emotional ride. I’ve loved Adena since the moment she was introduced in Powerless. When I found out Powerful would focus entirely on her? I knew I had to read it. What I didn't expect was to be an emotional mess by the end. I thought I was ready. I was not.Getting to spend more time in Adena’s head was honestly a gift. And then… there's Mak. Sweet, guarded, absolutely doomed Mak. They were clearly meant to be, which just made everything hit so much harder. Part of me wants to see more of Mak later in the series somehow.I also did the tandem read of Powerful alongside Powerless, and I’m so glad I did. Switching between the two books gave me extra context for the scenes, which made the story more engaging. Adena’s POV added layers to moments in Paedyn’s, and it was cool to see things happening parallel to the main plot.My reviews of the Powerless series- Powerless- Reckless- Fearless
