I have never read a book quite like this. It is a story of a down on his luck regular guy who falls into a fantastical situation and ends up thriving. So that part is sort of typical. But there were so many more elements, and all put together was unique, although I admit this is pretty different than what I usually read. It was part fantasy, part thriller, part comedy, with anthropomorphic cats (and dolphins?), a villain business that gave IT Crowd vibes, and a HEA for our main guy. It was maybe a little scattered, but it was a fun ride.
