The Bones We Break

I have read a couple of this authors books and was really interested in this duet, I waited to read this as I am not a fan of cliff-hangers. I was fortunate to be asked to ARC read the second book so read this and boy oh boy was this a book full of trauma.Poor Ana, she had the worst luck! While reading this I was praying she get her happy ending, the hatred I have for Ricky is astronomical. He has no redeeming qualities and is not redeemable in the slightest.Then we have Dean, he was so gentle with her but also gave her the ability to feel what happened to her without shame or guilt. He never once blamed her and helped her take back control of her life.I will admit this type of book isn't usually what I go for. I don't mind a bit of trauma and angst but this book has just so much of it I felt myself just feeling really sad for Ana and her whole situation, that aside these stories need to be told to highlight life isn't always full of light.As always it was beautifully written.Dean is perfect for Ana and I hope for a positive future for them and Lyla.
