yikes.it’s one thing to portray a girl who has insecurities about her appearance, but it’s another thing to make her weight her entire personality. this crossed the line of taylor being relatable to her playing victim and making everything about how much she weighed. also girlie kinda ... had an ed? with her one egg and piece of toast for breakfast? why did we like ... not talk about that?conor was fine, but his “troubled past” was so poorly explored and we don’t even really get full closure on whatever that storyline with kai was.and – get this – TWO third act breakups. i’m not kidding. both times were, naturally, completely dramatic and unnecessary. the miscommunication between the characters was actually insane, especially the second time considering they’d claimed to love each other by that point. you expect me to buy into their relationship when they give up on each other at the first sign of something not going perfectly? naur.elle kennedy has been a very hit or miss author for me since i first read off campus back in 2022, and i fear this one was quite possibly the biggest miss of them all (so far). so disappointing for the og off campus/briar u era to end on this note but ... at least four (maybe five? the jury’s still out on grace and logan even four years later) out of the eight books and couples were worth my time!
