I was enthralled with this book. Cinda Williams Chima did a marvelous job at adding excitement, adventure, betrayal, and personality to the story. A big HURRAH to her!! I fell in love with both the characters: Amon and Han Alister. And who could forget the princess Raisa who, though not my favourite character, has some spunk that I love in these types of books!! Although some parts were fairly predictable, I couldn't help but fall in love with the story! Overall...AMAZING JOB!!WARNING: SPOILERS AHEADAmon - a loyal-to-the-end best friend anyone could ever have, who put aside his feelings for the sake of the safety of the princess Raisa. Han Alister - what a simple, yet complex character. I love that about him. He gave up his life as a streetlord of the Fells so that his younger sister wouldn't get involved and possibly killed. What a noble act for one who has a hard time making a living without pickpocketing for extra cash. On top of that, he finds out he is a wizard despite his hatred of them.
