This was an emotional follow-up to Wicked. Though I will say, I find it amusing how consent played such a huge part of this series so far. The prince or princess cannot impregnate the halfling unless they have consent, granted only through free will. It cannot be forced or coerced. Considering the fae can control the minds of those without four-leaf clovers, I'd say this rule is pretty important. But this book pushing the boundary of that rule and really makes you wonder how tight that rule is. Only one book left to go into this trilogy. And then it's all over. One way or another.
