Description

In "Tornets fall," the once-stable city of Tar Valon descends into chaos as fierce internal conflicts erupt, unsettling the delicate balance of power. At the heart of this turmoil lies Siuan Sanche, the recently deposed leader, who finds herself navigating a treacherous landscape filled with betrayals and shifting alliances. With the rise of the ominous Svarte, the stakes are higher than ever, and the shadows of mistrust loom large over a city that was once a beacon of hope.

As the factions clash and loyalties are tested, a gripping tale of survival, resilience, and the struggle for dominance unfolds. The city’s inhabitants must confront their deepest fears and ambitions, pushing the limits of friendship and enmity. In a world where the line between good and evil blurs, the characters must grapple not only with external threats but also with their own inner demons, setting the stage for a breathtaking journey that will change their lives forever.

4.5 stars this time around. It has lost .5 stars since I last read it about three years ago mainly because I found some parts a bit boring. If it had been around 750 pages rather than 1,000 I would have given it a perfect score. Overall, I’m really enjoying my WoT reread.

I feel like Jordan has figured out what he is doing with this series with this book. It was a slog at the start, but it accelerates into a great adventure. I do wish Jordan was better at developing romance, but I can excuse it at this point.
