Description

Set against the backdrop of 1936 Europe, the narrative paints a chilling picture of a continent on the brink of chaos. As the influence of Nazism begins to creep into daily life, individuals from various backgrounds find themselves grappling with an uncertain future. The atmosphere is thick with tension, where trust is eroded and loyalties are tested.

The protagonists navigate a world fraught with peril and moral dilemmas, as they confront the swift changes reshaping their society. Each character’s journey sheds light on the resilience of the human spirit amidst the encroaching darkness. The streets of Vienna, once a hub of cultural richness, become a playground for fear and propaganda, transforming lives in unimaginable ways.

Amidst this turmoil, stories of unlikely friendships and courage emerge, highlighting the delicate balance between hope and despair. As the shadow of tyranny looms larger, the struggle for survival becomes intertwined with the quest for justice and freedom.

I'm extremely disappointed. This book came highly recommended but I just don't like it. There are too many points of view, and while a small part of me wants to know what happens, most of me doesn't care. It's a very slow book, with a couple suspense filled chapters but the others aren't greatly written. Unfortunately, wouldn't recommend.
