Outlander
and
Dragonfly in Amber
, the extraordinary saga continues. Their passionate encounter happened long ago by whatever measurement Claire Randall took. Two decades before, she had traveled back in time and into the arms of a gallant eighteenth-century Scot named Jamie Fraser. Then she returned to her own century to bear his child, believing him dead in the tragic battle of Culloden. Yet his memory has never lessened its hold on her... and her body still cries out for him in her dreams.
Then Claire discovers that Jamie survived. Torn between returning to him and staying with their daughter in her own era, Claire must choose her destiny. And as time and space come full circle, she must find the courage to face the passion and pain awaiting her...the deadly intrigues raging in a divided Scotland... and the daring voyage into the dark unknown that can reunite—or forever doom—her timeless love.

Voir tout2.5 starsIt has always been forever, for me, SassenachVoyager was a massive book. I loved Season 3 of Outlander a lot, but Voyager not so much. I know that most of the things in Voyager is exactly the same in Outlander, but there was one problematic aspect which just can't be sidelined at all which was the Geneva and Jamie scene. That scene was so problematic and I'm so glad that the show cut part out. The reunion between Jamie and Claire was beautiful I really liked it. I also loved John Grey. By the last 100 pages of the book I was literally pushing myself to finish off reading. I ALSO DID NOT LIKE THE FACT THAT THE POV'S CHANGED FROM FIRST TO THIRD AND BACK AGAIN. That was so annoying and made me so confused. Another aspect I need to point out is the racism in this book. I know it's set in the 1700s but there's no need to make Yi Tien Cho so incredibly inhuman and mock the Asian culture. He was also depicted as an outsider where almost nobody, including Claire wanted to interact with him. I'm so glad that the show made Yi Tien Cho is respected by everyone more than what the book did. The phrases describing Yi Tien Cho was distasteful. Overall, I didn't love this book. There were moments I really liked, but I wasn't as in love with the book as I was with the show. I don't think I'll be reading Drums of Autumn until Season 4 comes out.
