John C. Fogerty is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, widely recognized as the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). Born in 1945, Fogerty's career took off in the late 1960s with the band's unique blend of rock, swamp pop, and blues. CCR became one of the most successful bands of the era, producing timeless hits such as "Bad Moon Rising," "Fortunate Son," and, of course, "Proud Mary." Fogerty's distinct voice and powerful songwriting played a crucial role in shaping the sound of American rock music during the tumultuous years of the Vietnam War.
