This is my second read-through!I read it all like a decade ago, in high school!I definitely enjoy it for the nostalgia, aside from that it is definitely more aimed for middle-grade to YA.Zoey is our MC but her character development throughout the series is so good.The other characters you will fall in love with as they fight evil through each book. The friend group is so great, and they will make you laugh and cry.Definitely worth reading.I would love more of an adult version of this series !

[Spoiler Free Review]I don't have guilty pleasures, but if I did, this book series would be it. It's hard to recommend this series, there are a lot of elements that "haven't aged well" (they weren't great for that time either but you know) and it's kind of cringe. But it's just my type of cringe and I love it lol. If you ignore the slut shaming and the questionable and downright illegal behavior of some men here, it IS a fun time. I know, I'm asking you to ignore a lot.But for what it's worth I think this series has some really interesting ideas and a fun take on the vampire world. The tattoos that grow with you are an insanely great and marketable idea, I'm shocked this book series didn't get a YA TV show. Stevie Rae is bae and I think we can all agree on that.Kalona is my problematic fave, I'm sorry. I can make him worse, I promise.(I feel like I need to state that I'm not condoning the problematic stuff written and it should rightfully be called out. I'm just stating my opinion that these books were fun to a teenage me. Do be mindful for yourself of the trigger warnings these books have though.)
