Descrizione

In the aftermath of a tumultuous journey, two souls find themselves navigating the complexities of love and resilience. Set against the backdrop of an impending monsoon, the narrative unfolds with an exhilarating tension that mirrors the brewing storm. Each character grapples with their own emotional turbulence, echoing the tempest outside, as they persistently orbit each other, caught between desire and heartache.

As the rain begins to pour and the winds grow fierce, the protagonists are forced to confront their fears and vulnerabilities. The intensity of the weather becomes a metaphor for their internal struggles, challenging them to either succumb to chaos or rise against it. The setting is rich, painting vivid imagery of a landscape transformed by the season, which serves as a powerful catalyst for change and self-discovery.

With lyrical prose and deep character exploration, the author captures the bittersweet nature of love—its ability to uplift and devastate. Readers are drawn into a tale that weaves emotional depth with an urgent, almost cinematic rhythm, leaving them breathless and yearning for resolution as the storm brews ever closer.

I wanted to like A Monsoon Rising more than I did. The story didn’t really grab me until around chapter 21, which made the first half feel like a slog. What frustrated me most was how much went unanswered by the end. Instead of feeling intrigued enough to continue the series, I felt more annoyed—like the book relied too heavily on setting things up for the next installment rather than delivering a satisfying payoff on its own. There were interesting ideas and stronger moments toward the end, but the lack of resolution ultimately left me unmotivated to pick up the sequel. That said… Alaric is still baby boy, and honestly the main reason I stuck it out as long as I did.
