It is peaceful in the valleys and mountains of Mid-Wales. the reality of war seems far away. Gwyneth is kept busy on the farm, as well as looking after her father A visit to a US Air Force base dance opens her eyes to the possibility of romance. Meanwhile, from their base in France, Luftwaffe bomber crews are planning bombing raids on Great Britain. Bernd and his cew are proud of their country, their skill, and of the aircraft they fly. They know the risks they take on their bombing missions are high. The lives of Gwyneth and Bernd are to become intertwined in a totally unexpected way, and this is their story.
