12/8/12If you're looking for a light, fluffy, quick read, this book is certainly not for you. However, if you're looking for something thought-provoking and deep, pick this up. One thing I kept thinking while reading this was that it reminded me of [a:Markus Zusak|11466|Markus Zusak|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1311632768p2/11466.jpg]. It focused more on the characters and their thoughts than what was actually happening. Sure, a lot of things happened in this book. But it wasn't necessarily the outcome that mattered, it was more what Jimmy and Christy took out of the experience. I didn't find either of the main characters particularly likable, which is one of the reasons this has three star instead of four. I also felt like there was needless obscenity at some parts. But I loved the writing and ideas it brought up, and I think overall it was worth it and I'm very happy to have read it.Update 1/25/21: Gotta read this again; bet it's not needless obscenity and bet I love the characters now
