Except, Jessalie is complicated. Troubled. She suffered a traumatic loss she’s been punishing herself with ever since, and I’m not sure I can compete with the darkness of her past. Especially when I come with darkness of my own.

Self-harm. I can control it only so much, but I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure I won’t be her downfall.
