I cried while reading it, and I don’t know, it was such a beautiful kind of cry. I felt like the book was written almost like a poem. Very, very… I can’t even find the right adjective for it, but it was truly beautiful.I also really loved the characters. They felt so real, with both good and bad sides. They didn’t feel unrealistic like characters in some books do. They had flaws, anger, mistakes, moments of cruelty, and they made choices that changed the course of their lives in painful ways. That’s what made them feel human to me.During my journey with this book, I also experienced other emotions. Sometimes I felt bored or simply wasn’t in the mood to read it. At times I even thought about taking a break from it. I definitely didn’t read it quickly. I read it slowly, and sometimes I wouldn’t read at all. Other times I would read only one chapter and stop there. One thing that bothered me a little was that some chapters felt very long. Sometimes it even annoyed me because I didn’t want such long chapters. But overall, I think that slower experience made me appreciate the journey more. It was that kind of feeling where sometimes I got frustrated, but then I would think, “No, this is actually really beautiful.”But I never once felt like I disliked the writing or the story itself. Not at all. I genuinely loved both the writing and the story. Everything about it felt beautiful and emotional, and even now I still feel like the emotions this book gave me haven’t completely left me yet.I’ll definitely read more books by Amanda Peters. I’m not sure yet if she has other books, but I really hope she does. Overall, I thought this book was absolutely beautiful.
Couldn't get into it. The writing feels repetitive to me in some places and I wasn't really hooked.
