Visualizza tuttoWhat a lovely book! Backman has a knack for creating small moments of true vulnerability and humanity, which draws you in and makes you fall in love with every character he writes (except Kent. fuck Kent.). I first met Britt-Marie in Backman's book, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry, and even then it was clear that there was so much more beneath her surface than the "mean old woman" she was portrayed as. This book takes place after My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry, and sees Britt-Marie embarking on an incredible adventure to rediscover herself and her love of life. It's very funny, and just as heartbreaking. It's a testament to community, love, and the human spirit.
