I stumbled upon these books back in 2022 and I bought them all (Crave, Crush, Covet and Court) and devoured all of them within a matter of days.I love the vibes within the first 4 books and I adored the cheesiness in Charm, however I don’t think Cherish should have been made. Here is whySPOILERS ABOUT THE WHOLE CRAVE SERIES EXCEPT CHERISH BELOW THIS LINE—————————————————————Cherish starts off for me with a lot of confusion from the second chapter on, there is a relationship that we have seen growing and develop from Crave on, and all of a sudden it is there. Without any background story, without any information or details it was thrown in our faces and we, as readers, just had to deal with it.I had really high expectations for this instalment of the Crave series due to the ending of Court. Grace finally finds her demi god powers, and since I have finished Court I was looking forward to read Cherish to see how these powers would develop. This however hasn’t happened yet and I am 60% in.Characters from the books that I absolutely loved and adored, I become to hate in this book. The same for the relationship between Hudson and Grace. Their relationship made the books so magical for me, as I couldn’t care about Jaxon. But this book let me hate their relationship and got me even annoyed with Hudson (yes I never thought I would say this as I absolutely adored him in the past 5 book). As I said before, I am now 60% in and maybe I will change my rating at the end when I have finished it, but for me this is a really hard read, I hate what some characters have become, and the way this book is pushing the narrative. After 60% it is more like a cringe read then anything else, from shrines, to a concert, and other details that were so not what I was hoping for. Also not much has happened yet, and the book is already almost over. I am really sad I am writing a review like this because I absolutely adored the series and the writer but the series should have been concluded with Charm. But again hopefully my views of this book will change by the time I have finished it.———————————————————————————UPDATE FINISHED BOOK————————————————————————When I was around 76% in the book things started to get a lot more interesting and the vibes from the last 5 books came back. The friendships, the relationships, the action and the tension I came to love from this series. However I don’t think it should take almost till the end for a book to give these vibes. Definitely not if it is the last instalment.Towards the ending we learn more about what Grace can do with her powers, and we see the relationship she has with Hudson become magical again as we know and came to love in the last 5 instalments. The other characters also redeemed themselves in the end. I still think the last book is very rushed as I would have loved to see more of the end battle between the Crone and Grace, we didn’t get this in the extent I hoped for.I think if Tracy would have made this book as long as Court a lot of things would have been covered better then we got now. Mostly because this book takes up like 60% of not very interesting and important thing while this all could have been filled with the action and tension we grew to love. But in the end I do think she wrapped it nicely and with most question answered.
