Penned by a Pulitzer Prizeâwinning author, this âgritty and gleamingâ set of short stories (The New York Times Book Review) includes âBrokeback Mountainâ! From heartbreak to unexpected joy, anything can happen in the vast plains of Wyoming. ââEvery single sentence surprises and delights and just bowls you overâ (The Washington Post).
Short-story collection from the Pulitzer Prize-winning and bestselling author of The Shipping News and Accordion Crimes
Annie Proulx's masterful language and fierce love of Wyoming are evident in these tales of loneliness, quick violence, and the wrong kinds of love. Each of the portraits in Close Range reveals characters fiercely wrought with precision and grace.
These are stories of desperation and unlikely elation, set in a landscape both stark and magnificent.

Not a huge fan of this book to be perfectly honest. It felt rushed and too short. There were some parts that gave so much feeling and emotion and I wish she would turn this into a novel with more character development.
