Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Crossed by Ally Condie, read by Jack Riccobono and Kate Simses.
Rules are different outside the Society. Chasing down an uncertain future, Cassia makes her way to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped into the majestic but treacherous canyons.
On this wild frontier are glimmers of a different life and the enthralling promise of rebellion. But even as Cassia sacrifices everything to reunite with Ky, ingenious surprises from Xander may change the game once again.
Narrated from both Cassia's and Ky's points of view, this hotly anticipated sequel to Matched will take them both to the edge of Society, where nothing is as expected and crosses and double crosses make their path more twisted than ever....
The sensational second book in the series and follow-up to acclaimed international best-seller Matched.

The second book was as gripping as the first, this series will be a good choice if you enjoy books like the Divergent, The Maze Runner and Mocking Jay series, although there is not as much action in the books, the theme of a controlled society and the growing discord with the status quo are similar. The characters are well developed, the ‘love triangle’ is not really a ‘kissy kissy- angst’ type of trope, its rather more on the lines of an arranged marriage versus falling in love with the person you have met. I liked how all three of the characters deal with the multitude of emotions reflected with this situation, the 3 characters have been friends since they were children, so the love of friendship was the backbone for all three of the characters, until Society throws in the matched result. (can’t go into detail as it would spoil any readers who haven’t read book 1)So in finishing – in this book our characters grow, separate and learn their individual strengths and weaknesses, they realise that everything is not black and white, results can lie, data can be manipulated. Real life in a way I guess. The thing about this book is you can see parts of our growing technology in the story and it makes you wonder… what if?It’s a great book to make the reader contemplate morality, data protection and manipulation of data given to the public.A well earned 5 stars
