This is a 6 star read. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! And oh my godddd the audio??? THE AUDIO!!!! Dáinn's voice had me on the floor. That raspy wraith voice took MY soul from my body!I am in complete awe of this story. You've got a polyamorous relationship between a human, a witch and a wraith. You've got an island full of kooky witches. You've got a cat that's definitely not a cat. There's primal play! Which also had me on the floor. I was not prepared for Dáinn's "Run." Shane East, I will be listening to more of your work cause I'm absolutely obsessed. But also Megan Wicks and Gregory Salinas were also incredible reading as Birdie and Jasper. I felt the emotions with every character. Incredible incredible incredible! Listening to the audio definitely heightened the whole experience for me.I cannot wait for the next book. I wish I had it in my hands right now. That ending ...I had to lay down for a minute cause I was baffled YOU JUST LEFT ME THERE! Cliffhanger? I received this as an advanced reader copy from NetGalley. This book surprised me in the best way. I am not a fan of insta-love. More times than not, I will DNF a book with that trope. However, this was done so incredibly well. It was very much insta-love, but it was not ridiculously over the top. This is the perfect fall read if you enjoy spooky PNW vibes. I fear many people will reduce this to smut, as so many love to do with books women enjoy. But to be honest, it was not gratuitous. Emily Rath has the ability to make spicy scenes push forward the character development and it is not just for the sake of having a sex scene. I adore Birdie, Jasper, and Daiin. I cannot wait for the rest of the series to see how these characters develop and what ultimately happens with the plot. Also, I aspire to be Hortie when I grow up.
