The quiet of a small Arizona town and surrounding desert is shattered when people start to die. When the sheriff enlists the of a country doctor to unravel the mysterious happenings, the sheriff is himself attacked by a creature of nightmarish proportions. something about the attack on the sheriff causes the doctor to remember a briefcase he has secretly hidden in his closet. When he opens the briefcase and remembers who he was, it drives him to a destination he would sooner avoid. A destination he should have arrived at over thirty years before.
