Esther Saves

God decides to stop the Holocaust as well as save the rest of mankind from a nuclear war sparked by Hitler.… Eastern Europe, 1942: As the Holocaust progresses, Wehrmacht soldier Hans Henckel—a onetime virulent anti-Semite, atheist and misfit—slowly becomes a devout Christian indirectly through the influence of Esther Goldberg, an orthodox German Jew who had grown up an arrogant prude. Secretly, the two learn to pray together, celebrate Shabbat, love and even marry. After Hans manages to send his pregnant Jewish wife to his parents, the two individually begin an unprecedented spiritual revival that reaches millions of Germans and effectively sabotages the Holocaust and a premature nuclear war. With the Gestapo hunting them, good and evil spirits influencing events and a host of human helpers, Hans and Esther Henckel discover that God has formed them in the fashion of Queen Esther and King Xerxes to save their generation and generations to come.
