In a world where the Reapers operate in the shadows, Ethan finds himself thrust into a perilous mission that will test his courage and resolve. These beings, indifferent to the plight of humanity, take the lives of those they choose without a second thought. As Ethan grapples with the weight of this grim reality, he is determined to discover a way to fight back and protect those at risk.

Navigating through a landscape filled with danger and betrayal, Ethan's journey leads him to unexpected allies and haunting revelations. Each step forward brings him closer to unraveling a mystery that could change everything he knows about the Reapers. With lives hanging in the balance, Ethan must summon all his strength to confront the darkness and embrace the hero within himself, even when the odds seem insurmountable. Will he rise to the challenge, or will the Reapers claim yet another casualty?

This is the second book of this series and starts off right where Charlie's story ends. So to really grasp the storyline I would definitely recommend reading these in order. I loved how we could see the friendship of Charlie and Ethan grow in this book despite being separated by worlds, they made it a point that no matter what they would see each other again. This really shows later in the book when Charlie makes up his mind to find Ethan even though the outlook was bleak. I also loved seeing how Ethan matured throughout the book, most people would give up in his situation, but he came out with a plan and saw it through. I liked that there was also a teenage romance going on, it really helped to round out the storyline. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
