Descrizione

Fade From the Truth is a personal story about how a failed suicide attempt led to the belief that God spared the author's life because He had bigger plans for Alan Miller, especially when Alan's mother sends Jehovah's Witnesses back into his life. Alan spent nearly 20 years knocking on doors to offer Watchtower magazines to strangers and to tell them that Armageddon was imminent. The Jehovah’s Witnesses shaped every aspect of his life from education to career to marriage, despite the clear warnings along the way that what the Witnesses call “the truth” was really a lie. Eventually, with Armageddon overdue, Alan figured out that he was in the wrong place. Jehovah's Witnesses don't just let you walk away unscathed. Alan details his choice to "fade" from activity in the religion, which is a form of sneaking away without getting kicked out, thereby avoiding being shunned by even close family members. But fading has it's price also. Afterall, crazy strict religions have got to have rules.
