The fascinating and significant battlefield letters of Brigadier General Frederic W. Shift -- winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor -- in their first publication anywhere. General F.W. Swift's service during the Civil War is the stuff of which movies are made. He entered the war as a captain and steadily rose in rank and responsibility, eventually commanding his regiment, then the brigade to which it belonged. Told in great part through his own extremely literate and never-before-published letters, Form On Me offers unique firsthand views of the important people and battles of the "War Between the States".
