It has Greek methodology , gods , fire , magic , dragon ( even tho they were kinda weird , what kinda dragon has a human head ??? ) creatures , it has everything . the fmc is just so funny she kinda reminds me of alein . its slowburn but not at the same time I dunno how ro explain it , some slowburn in books isn't really a burn but just slow and boring but it was just the right amount and don't get me started on the found family trope cat's relationship with Kato, flyn and carverw relationship is heartwarming can't wait to read the second instalment
I saw this book a few month ago on a browse to find books that I have to read this year… a 23 books in ‘23 list. The concept of this book was really intriguing, and I’m loving fantasy books at the moment, so I thought, why not?I really enjoyed this book. Cat and Griffin are great together, and I had loved their interactions from the start. I also have an inkling about a plot twist, so we’ll see if I’m right. The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was her inner commentary at times. While yes, it totally plays a part in her overall character, but there were times I just wanted to smack her and then yell at her to stop putting herself down. She does learn, though. With Griffin, she goes from being wary and withdrawn to opening up (albeit unwillingly at times) and gaining friends and family. I’m excited to read the next book and see what Cat and Griffin get up to next. Can their love conquer their inevitable trials?
