If You Really Loved Me

Just before dawn on 19 March 1985, in a quiet Californian suburb, 23-year-old Linda Marie Brown died a most unquiet death. Beautiful and blonde, the wife of a millionaire, she was the woman who had everything. And yet someone fired two bullets between her breasts as she slept in her bed. The cruel crime seemed to offer no retional explanation. The only two people in the house were Linda's 17-year-old sister, Patti Bailey, and her 14-year-old stepdaughter Cinnamon Brown. David Brown, Linda's husband, who was absent at the time of the murder, wept bitter tears when told he had lost the woman he loved. Detectives questioned all three, and one was convicted of the crime.

But for veteran investigators Fred McLean and Jay Newell, hard questions had gone unanswered. Who had wanted Linda Brown dead? And why? As they disentangled lies from truth, they found that Linda Brown had lived in a world of perverse love and dark secrets, hidden behind a blandly normal facade. They unearthed proof of greed, lust and unimaginable mind games.

And at length their investigation resulted in arrests. In gripping courtroom testimony, the terrible truth behind Linda Brown's murder finally emerged...
