Dopo la morte di mia madre, mio padre spedisce me e mio fratello su un’isola, Raven Hollow, a trascorrere l’estate con una nonna che non abbiamo mai conosciuto.
Niente sembra andare per il verso giusto, almeno finché non conosco Zane Hunter, un ragazzo che, all’improvviso, rende interessante il mio soggiorno sull’isola. Un metro e ottanta di bellezza e un accenno di fascino celtico nella voce, Zane è la tipica persona che lascia dietro di sé una scia di cuori infranti.
Ma io ho già sofferto abbastanza.
Per quanto cerchi di stargli lontana, però, Raven Hollow non è grande abbastanza per riuscirci e la tensione fra di noi è innegabile.
Quando il passato torna a terrorizzarmi e qualcuno prova a uccidermi, l’unica persona che voglio evitare diventa il mio salvatore. Più mi avvicino alla verità, più scopro che tutto ciò che conosco è una menzogna. Ma non so cosa mi spaventi di più: i tentativi di porre fine alla mia vita o il ragazzo la cui anima e il cui cuore sono sincronizzati ai miei?

I don’t know how I feel about this book. It wasn’t bad, but then I also sort of feel as if I’m giving it too much credit by rating it a 3 star read. I remember adding it to my TBR because of a reel teaser, but how I don’t remember why it had intrigued me. Why had I immediately added it to my list?Piper lost her mother in a tragic way and she and her brother are sent to live with their grandmother for the summer. Someone they had never met. They both have reservations about the upheaval, yet TJ adjusts quickly while Piper rebels whenever she can. While I enjoy a good “discovering who you really are” trope, I did get annoyed by the constant back and forth between characters wanting to clue her in or keeping her at a distance and unaware.Yes, this has potential, and I am curious about a couple things: how the author will play the forbidden love angle without diving in to cheating or betrayal; how the events at the end of this book will play out in the second book; TJs role- Will he be a significant factor later on? But… this does not mean I’m desperate to dive into the next book. I’m actually planning on reading a different book next and then seeing if I want to continue this series.
