God, Reese just reminded me how grateful I am not to be a teenager anymore. Her experiences were accurate, but I found being in her head sooo exhausting. Being in Courtney's head wasn't better, either. Again, while her inner monologue was realistic and I can absolutely understand all the pain, fear and grief she was feeling, it got very repetitive. I didn't really enjoy this book. The story would've been a 3⭐, probably. However, I absolutely hated the way the story was written. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was overexplained. The author couldn't trust the readers to understand anything without it being spelled out to them repeatedly. It got exhausting really quickly.
this was crazy! if you like thrillers where you genuinely are suspicious about every character… this is the one. that last chapter had my jaw on the floor! i had sooo many theories and i was only like 1/4 right.thank you to the hive for my early copy!
