Lightbearer: An Epic Adventure Through Iceland-Action Packed Novella

Einar the Wise is a young Viking whose powers lie more in intellect instead of brute strength or brazen courage like most of his peers. He is also a Christian while they are pagans. Yet, he has agreed to come on a perilous voyage from Norway to Iceland at the request Elof Stonefist, his uncle. Elof has founded Valberg, a settlement in Iceland, where he presides there as the head gooi, or Jarl, over the settlement’s varthing council. Elof is a Christian too and invited Einar to be the lawspeaker of his council. Einar feels obliged to accept such an honor from his uncle.
A storm throws the voyage off course, and the ship crash lands on the Icelandic coast in a strange location in the middle of a storm ravaged night. The only survivors, other than Einar, are Bjorn, the hothead leader, Ulfvali, the crazed berserker, Ivar, Halvor, Welch, and Balder. Einar must earn their respect because of his lack of physical strength and because he is a Christian. They know him as “Map Man” for his land navigational skills and “Half-Man” for his lack of rowing strength. Yet, he will soon earn a new nickname from them.
How will Einar and the surviving crew make it through the cold stormy night on the Icelandic coast? How will they get their bearings and make their way to Valberg? What trouble will await them as they travel through the Icelandic wilderness? What is the new name that Einar will earn?
