Four decades have passed since Harriet Vanger vanished without a trace, leaving a powerful and wealthy family to grapple with her mysterious disappearance. Stieg Larsson intricately weaves a tale that delves into the dark undercurrents of family secrecy, societal prejudice, and the haunting specter of misogyny. Each character is crafted with depth, revealing their strengths and vulnerabilities as the narrative unfolds.
At the center of this gripping story is a journalist, who becomes entwined in the search for the truth behind Harriet's fate. His journey leads him into the depths of the Vanger family's hidden realities, exposing long-buried secrets and deep-set animosities. As he digs deeper, he uncovers a web of lies that connects to a broader commentary on the systemic issues surrounding gender and power.
This narrative not only serves as a thrilling mystery but also as a profound exploration of the societal attitudes towards women, emphasizing the need for justice and understanding in a world fraught with discrimination and hostility. Through chilling revelations and passionate characters, Stieg Larsson invites readers to confront the uncomfortable truths that linger beneath the surface.

Recensioni
A little bit too much politics for my taste, but a wonderful book. I don't think that I will read the rest of the series just because I'm not a huge mystery book type of gal. Plus the books are huge. And also, the author didn't get to live to finish the series, which is sad.
