This was a fun read. Though the twist wasn't that great, I still enjoyed it and I thought the ending was satisfying (though I felt it was a bit rushed)

This book started very well and ended up absolutely absurd. The main character has too many moments of sheer stupidity, but then somehow makes a very far fetched assumption that turns out to be true? I think the relationship with Ty needed less telling, more showing. I'm supposed to think they had this star crossed lovers kind of connection, but all we see is him being a douchebag to her. I will say that I don't have the experience of being a black woman in the USA. So maybe this doesn't allow me to understand all the nuances of this story.I didn't hate the book and I was curious to see the reveal, but from 60% onward I was so ready to get it over with, I contemplated searching for spoilers and DNFing it.
