Descrizione

Sixteen-year-old Steve Harmon finds himself at the center of a harrowing trial, accused of being an accomplice to a murder he didn't commit. As the legal proceedings unfold, he grapples with the realities of the criminal justice system and the powerful impact it can have on a young life. With his dreams of becoming a filmmaker lingering in the background, he turns to recording his thoughts and experiences in a screenplay format, revealing the turmoil and confusion that defines his existence during this traumatic period.

As the trial progresses, Steve confronts his own identity and the perception of him as a "monster" rather than a misunderstood teen. Through his poignant reflections, he shares his fear, desperation, and the struggle to navigate life within the confines of a system that seems determined to label him based solely on his surroundings and the choices of others.

His journey serves as a gripping exploration of innocence lost and the harsh realities of growing up in an environment fraught with violence and prejudice. In the end, Steve's story transcends the specifics of his case, opening up deeper conversations about justice, identity, and the complexities of being a young person in a world that often fails to recognize their humanity.

Read this entire book cover to cover on my 4-hour flight to Vegas. LOVED IT!!! Loved that this was written like a crime drama (in script) and absolutely loved how you weren't really sure of the ending until the very last page. Highly recommend!!
