Prometheus

Not satisfied with flooding the world, Zeus wreaks harsh punishment on Prometheus himself. Nailed to a mountain in the Caucasus, he endures unbowed the most hideous torture ever inflicted upon god or man. In the end he is set free by Heracles and is reconciled with Zeus when the latter stops raining misfortunes on mankind. This volume is a free rendering of the ancient tragedy by Aeschylus and carries the story on to the point where Prometheus is released
