"-La comprensión no te sienta bien, Azer.
-No mientas, Gray.
I loved this series so much and I'm so excited for the final book but I also don't want it to end!
🗡️2.25 stars...🗡️The second book kind of bored me... I was constantly checking how many pages left until it finished. Because, I mean, was it unexpected? Yeah. But was it interesting? ...Not always.🫰The ending. That one twist alone gave it 0.25 stars.👎The romance. I don't think they hate each other enough at the beginning. I mean, I understand that they never REALLY hated each other, but it didn't feel deep enough. Like it didn't last long enough. And their dynamic as "enemies" didn't really feel like enemies.👎It felt very repetitive... Kai, like in the first book, loves "slipping on a mask" that Paedyn manages to identify every single time because they are just soulmates, I guess. I know Paedyn has trauma, but it was brought up repeatedly -- my issue here isn't with the trauma itself, but how the plot goes. Each time she has the same reaction and Kai is always like "hey look at me you're okay paedyn" and she's like "yeah and that makes me feel better". I don't mind the mention of trauma as long as we don't say the same thing over and over again.
I enjoyed Reckless more than Powerless, but it still didn’t consume me the way some other books have. That said, it was a solid sequel with plenty of tension, action, and romance to keep me entertained. The story picks up right where we left off, and I appreciated how much the characters grew in this instalment. The stakes are higher, the betrayals sting a little more, and the emotions hit harder. The dynamic between the main characters was a highlight for me—angsty, complicated, and filled with moments that made me feel. That said, there were times when Payden and Kai’s constant refusal to admit their feelings started to feel a bit repetitive and even frustrating. Their back-and-forth, drawn-out tension felt like it slowed the pace a bit and, honestly, became a little annoying after a while.Lauren Roberts’ world-building remains strong, and I enjoyed getting more depth to the political tensions and conflicts. There were a few twists that landed well, though some felt a touch predictable. The pacing was good overall, but I did feel a slight disconnect at times, which stopped it from being a completely gripping read. While it didn’t have the all-consuming magic I’ve found in other books, Reckless was a definite improvement over Powerless and kept me engaged until the final page. It’s full of action, angst, and morally grey moments that fans of the series will love.
Aahhhhh, why a cliffhanger?!?!?!?!Beside that they were so cute and I loved the rest of the book ❤️
"Because the beast doesn’t get the beauty." This ending line was my undoing. Pae n Kai needs a happy ending, i swear.
I can't describe how I feel right now about everything that I've had feelings for and then vanished with just a phrase in the end. From THE WRONG PERSON. “You are to be my bride.”I felt like I'm a little girl who her parents passed away and all the people watching her with a eyes of pity because she didn't get what she wanted att all، I understand why Roberts did that because it's a series of them and i didn't expect this to goo further than it did in the first book, Kai and Payden felt a little delusion in a big ugly reality, and i really loved it, eventhough the end ripped my heart into pieces. This phrase was spoiled to me before on tiktok from a video and i wass so exited because i thought it was something beautiful that happened in this book but it was a BIG mistake to trust that feeling.
WHAT???????if i had to sit between this and Fearless i would have 1000% gone insane with the cliffhanger
Not as good as the first, a hell of a lot better than the novella
The Poppy Field!!!!!!!! Omgggggg Fav book of the Trilogy yet!!!
E surpresas! Grandes surpresas surgindo quando você menos espera. Eu preciso desesperadamente do terceiro livro.
