Requiem for Marilyn

"Remember Bernie, everything started with you."
What distinguishes Bruno Bernard's biography of Marilyn Monroe from all other books written about her? His intimate knowledge of the real Norma Jean behind the mask of the plastic superstar Marilyn provides him with an insight about her lack.
It was his professional photography that helped Marilyn to obtain her first motion picture: he took that classic never to be forgotten picture of her: and in front of an entire studio crew she said 'Remember Bernie, everything started with you.'
Their true friendship was cemented by the fact that both were raised in an orphanage and outlasted all entanglements real or imagined which a number of 'kiss and tell boys' have dug up after her death in hot pursuit of a fast buck.
Requiem for Marilyn is copiously illustrated by Bernard's unique and wonderful pictures.
