In 1879 while a student at Lake Forest Uni versity, associated with Rev. B. Fay Mills as a class mate, I received my first inspiration to do the work of an Evangelist.

In my early ministry and first pastorates I studied both men and methods that I might be able some day to do the work acceptably.

This book is a reproduction of an important historical work.
