Jerome and his companions have managed to escape to the Borderlands and the jurisdiction of the Inquisition. Upon arriving at the town of New Hope, Jerome finds himself embroiled in a conspiracy against the town by a sinister group known as the Arachnid gang.
Lucien meanwhile is given a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of the Inquisition after allowing Jerome to go free. He is given an assignment to infiltrate a coven of cultists in his home town of Aranfel and expose the cult members and learn the identity of its leader.
