Ready to Read is a series of reading books designed to encourage and develop the confidence of young readers between the ages of 5 and 7. They are aimed at children who can read a little, but who need lively but structured books to help them develop their skills further. The Level 1 books use no more than 300 words. The stories are told in ten episodes, in rhyme, avoiding complex words. Any hard words that are used are explained on the picture dictionary page.
