Still Water

The battered body of a young woman is found floating in the still water of a city canal. Police suspect a serial killer, which makes it a case for the Serious Crime Squad. Not Charlie Resnick’s case, until the friend of his lover, Hannah is murdered. Hannah convinces Resnick that her friend was murdered by her abusive husband, not by some anonymous killer. Investigating the murder, Resnick runs head-on into deeply disturbing questions about the nature of love, about the relationship of abuser and abused, and about the complicity in our own destruction.
