The Brecon Beacons

This guidebook covers the whole of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Many walkers find they want to know more about the countryside that they have come to enjoy and explore. This guidebook offers all the interesting facts that an expert walk leader would provide but leaves walkers with the magical wilderness feeling of an isolated mountain summit or the tranquillity of a river ramble. All the descriptions of the 43 routes are accompanied by a commentary on every aspect of the countryside, including geomorphology, hydrology, geology, botany, zoology, ecology, ornithology, archaeology, local history, land-use and environmental issues. This book is designed to be used by all ages and does not assume that a visitor has any previous mountain walking experience or countryside knowledge.
