The Collected Stories

The great novels of Turgenev, Tolstoy, and Dostoevsky were constructed upon the prose tales of Pushkin, yet these works are equally brilliant and fascinating in and of themselves. Pushkin was a master storyteller in both prose and verse; he was direct and dramatic, perceptive, vivid, and passionate.

All of the mature work is included in this updated and expanded Everyman's edition of his stories. The collection now includes numerous additional short stories as well as the masterful History of Pugachev, a compelling chronicle of the man who revolted against Catherine the Great, in addition to such novella-length gems as The Captain's Daughter and The Tales of Belkin.
