Descrizione

In a secluded corner of North Norfolk, Dr. Ruth Galloway, a dedicated forensic archaeologist, finds solace in her solitary life, surrounded by the crumbling remains of ancient structures and the haunting whispers of history. Though she embraces her independence, Ruth's world is about to turn upside down when a mysterious case draws her into the depths of both the past and a complex murder investigation.

When the bones of a child are discovered near a sacred site, Ruth’s skills are put to the test. Her expertise not only uncovers the tragic history hidden in the earth but also brings her into contact with DCI Harry Nelson, a detective with a personal connection to the case. Their uneasy partnership navigates the murky waters of old secrets and new dangers, forcing Ruth to confront her own vulnerabilities amidst the chaos.

As the investigation unfolds, the air thickens with intrigue and danger, revealing that what lies beneath the soil is not merely a relic of the past, but a dark puzzle with the power to change lives forever. Ruth must rely on her instincts and knowledge, forging unexpected alliances while unraveling truths that may lead her closer not only to justice but also to her own heart.

Like the combo of murder mystery and archaeology. A good holiday read although I guessed the culprit correctly quite early on.
