I really enjoyed this series but I prefer it as a trilogy. I also kind of wanted Toby to be Avery's dad and was disappointed when he wasn't.
Si vas a hacer que la protagonista escoja al peor hermano como pareja, al menos dame un buen final para el único que vale la pena en ese triángulo amoroso mal construido, aburrido, donde se nota desde la página 1 el favoritismo de la autora. ni para eso sirve.

I've been waiting for so long to read this book just because I wanted it in paperback and I didn't want to read the audiobook and then buy the paper book cuz then it was just going to be a waste of my money. So I waited 2 years to get the paperback book of this book and I read it and there are so many points in times where I was slightly confused cuz I like I waited 2 years so I was slightly confused on who was who and everything like that. But the story was absolutely amazing. I love the plot. I love the characters. I'm still here for Jameson and Avery like all time. I think this story is amazing and the fact that there is another book now and it didn't just end with that. I'm so happy like it was supposed to. I'm so so happy and the fact that there's also another book coming and getting released this year in 2024. So the fifth installment? And yes you best to believe I'll be waiting for the fourth book to be in paperback so I can get that book and read that book and I will wait and wait for however long it takes for the paperback to come out.
How can a human think of soooo many puzzles and riddles? It was an intense book. gives me the same chill as when I look at the BBC Serie Sherlock. I love the writing style and the depth of the characters. I had a tough time deciding if I preferred Grayson over Jameson, but in the end, I liked Jameson more than Grayson
So, I’ve finally finished The Final Gambit, the last book in The Inheritance Games series, and… yeah, it was underwhelming. The whole series had potential, but this final book just proved that it never really lived up to it.This book, like the others, is fast-paced and easy to read. After the halfway mark, it became more interesting than the first two books, and there were a few twists that kept me engaged. The puzzles were a little more creative this time (finally, some variety). The romance was also slightly better, but maybe that’s just because I’ve been reading all three books back to back and got used to it.But there are a lot of issues. The characters still feel flat and underdeveloped, which made emotional moments fall flat too. The mystery and revelations were mostly predictable. I guessed almost everything before it happened, and when the “big reveals” came, they didn’t feel earned. The family dynamics were all over the place—one moment, something feels important, and the next, it’s brushed aside like it never mattered. No consistency.The convenience in the puzzles and mysteries was frustrating. Everything was just handed to the characters with minimal effort. Speaking of convenience—how many secret doors does this mansion even have?! Every time something needed to be found, a new secret passageway magically appeared. It became a joke at some point. The ending was the biggest letdown. No tension, no real stakes, no struggle. Everything was just smooth sailing, which made the conclusion feel completely underwhelming.One of my biggest issues with this whole series is that Avery never truly struggles. Everything works out for her way too easily, which makes the story feel lifeless. The author also spoon-feeds the reader every little detail, as if we’re not capable of figuring things out on our own.If you’re looking for a light mystery-thriller with a sprinkle of romance, then you might enjoy this. It’s fast-paced, easy to read, and not boring—just don’t expect anything deep, clever, or emotionally gripping. If you’re okay with predictable mysteries, generic characters, and a lack of real stakes, then go for it. But if you want something that truly challenges you or makes you feel something? This series probably isn’t for you.

I also had moments where I could really strangle Jameson and hate him in this book. yes, I still remain a Grayson girly. In part three, I noticed that you had the puzzles, but that the development of the characters was more prominent. I thought it was a very nice book and you could read it straight through.
The BEST BEST way to finish these 3 books. The Plot Twists were so breathtaking and it wasn't just 1, from the 1st page till the last past this book will attack you with different plots; Also the way every piece of the puzzle completes the story to get to the end was marvelous, and unpredictable, I mean it will make you read it in one seating ( like it made me to read during 2 exams )moving on to the characters; now you can know Avery as one of the Howthornes and her relationship with Jamson is like 🛐❤️🔥 ( It's the one we all want to have in our life 🫠)this time well my dear Grayson was a bit annoying but you will get why when u read the book.Nash again appears to be the old, hot, and caring person and the way he treats Libby is GOD 😭Finally, Xander with his intelligence + the BOOK bouquet he gave to Max just unlocks a new version of Xander.
“…e se non elimini le schegge, qualcuno si farà male”Essendo il terzo volume della saga qualsiasi cosa è uno spoiler, partiamo però col dire che non è stato il mio libro preferito della trilogia.Avendolo letto a distanza di un anno dagli altri due ci ho messo un po' a tornare ad avere dimestichezza con i personaggi e con i fatti. Una volta chiara la situazione devo dire che non mi è dispiaciuta la trama a livello generale: il rapimento di Toby pone in essere una serie di dinamiche che porteranno poi a capire quale sia la vera ragione dietro la decisione del vecchio Hawthorne di scegliere Avery come erede, che devo dire non mi ha sorpreso, perché vedendo lo sviluppo del personaggio e capendo il suo modo di ragionare, non potevano esserci altre ragioni. A livello generale ci sono cose che ho trovato un po' ridondanti all’interno del libro, ma probabilmente questo deriva dal fatto che la dinamica si ripete continuamente: nuovo indizio, Avery ragiona e scopre qualcosa, lo racconta a Jameson e parte la battuta sull’Ereditiera. L’introduzione del personaggio di Eve ovviamente è stata un elemento chiave per portare Avery a riflettere su cosa prova per Jameson e Grayson, ma anche per dare modo a quest’ultimo di affrontare i suoi demoni, data la somiglianza con Emily e mettere un punto a quella storia, dopo un’iniziale allontanamento da Avery. Ammetto che Eve non mi è mai piaciuta, anche quando Avery mostrava dei sensi di colpa o le dava il beneficio del dubbio, troppi comportamenti disseminati in giro non mi tornavano, quindi ho sempre pensato che non dicesse quasi mai la verità.Non immaginavo sicuramente la piega che avrebbero preso gli eventi, ma trovo credibile il fatto che un vecchio nemico di Hawthorne potesse approfittare della sua morte per cercare vendetta, specie dato il coinvolgimento del figlio. La parte finale con le partite a scacchi penso sia stata studiata molto bene, per alcuni versi la definirei anche commovente, perché vedere Toby perdere volontariamente entrambe le volte pur sapendo cosa comporterà è stato toccante. Mentre la scommessa di Avery con il vecchio Blake, decisamente ingegnosa. A livello di personaggi Avery si riconferma la mia preferita, specie quando è accanto a Jameson, si completano, si spronano e penso che qualsiasi ragazza sarebbe fortunata ad avere un Jameson al suo fianco. È onesta nei suoi sentimenti, sapendo che una parte di lei vorrà sempre bene a Grayson e riconoscendo che non c’è sempre stato solo Jameson, ma che alla fine lei ha scelto per sé stessa e ha scelto lui. Il rapporto tra Jameson e Grayson è il proseguo di quanto già introdotto nei primi due libri, personalità estremamente diverse, consapevoli entrambi della considerazione che il vecchio aveva per ognuno di loro e del ruolo che avrebbero dovuto ricoprire. Mi è piaciuto il fatto che Grayson fosse in crisi dopo aver visto Eve, a dimostrazione che non ha mai superato la sua morte, ma che dopo l’esposizione dei fatti da parte di Avery sia finalmente rinsavito e abbia fatto pace con sé stesso e con gli altri. Ho apprezzato anche l’insicurezza di Jameson nei confronti di Avery, il fatto che le dica più volte che farebbe qualsiasi cosa per lei penso fosse decisamente vero, anche se questo l’avesse portato contro la sua famiglia o in situazioni rischiose. Mi sono piaciuti molto anche Nash e Xander. Il primo sempre pronto a fare ciò che serve per il bene degli altri e a proteggerli, lo dimostra la reazione che ha avuto alla notizia del rapimento di Alisa nonostante la relazione con lei sia finita. Il secondo invece credo venga sottovalutato da tutti, mentre con il suo scherzare, sdrammatizzare e cercare di trovare sempre il lato positivo di ogni cosa è un elemento fondamentale della famiglia. Mi piace anche il rapporto sviluppato con Avery, come se fossero quasi davvero fratelli, e la sua reazione dopo aver conosciuto il padre dimostra che è un personaggio molto più profondo di quanto non sembri.La reazione dei 4 fratelli alla decisione di Avery l’ho trovata credibile e ben bilanciata, ognuno ha avuto il comportamento che ci si sarebbe aspettato. La scena in cui Jameson ha paura che lei se ne vada l’ho trovata molto cute, sempre a dimostrazione del fatto che ciò che prova lui è sincero.Tutto sommato devo dire che è stato un libro piacevole. Ero convinta fosse l’ultimo della saga, ma a quanto pare potrebbe esserci un seguito, io la storia la considero conclusa già così, ma vedremo.
